Coming Trends in the Health Care Industry

Blessings in disguise. The latest world wide economic troubles may turn out to be a huge blessing for Integrative medicine and holistic health care. to get right to the point being healthy and staying healthy is the least expensive way to go, in fact holistic treatments are not only relatively inexpensive compared to their allopathic counter parts they are proving to be in most cases the only thing that works. For example the fix for the overweight epidemic in America is teaching what in all rights should be household common sense, i.e. get on a reasonable healthy diet and exercise or you are at a much higher risk of developing a debilitating disease such as heart disease cancer or diabetes etc.

If you haven't already watch the documentary "Super Size Me" by Morgan Spurlock http://www.hulu.com/watch/63283/super-size-me

This is invaluable information that your health depends on.

You can start by changing your focus, instead of thinking in terms of disease prevention think in terms of personal health care and prevention. In other words you are changing your focus from what do I do so something bad doesn't happen to me into, what can I do to improve my overall health and wellness. This is a conscious shift. You may be doing many of the same things but you are changing your focus from a fear based how do I avoid the bad things happening to a positive what do I do to encourage a more healthy balanced me. Integrative Health Care has a great advantage in this economy, simply it is the most affective and cost efficient way to go. Yes I am saying that eating well and exercising and practicing personal awareness will save our health care system and individuals allot of money. Don't take my word for it look at what the experts are saying.

This is a link to a U.S. Senate Hearing: Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions on "Integrative Care: A Pathway to a Healthier Nation" that was held on Feb. 26, 2009. The presenters include Dr. Mehmet Oz, Dr. Dean Ornish, Dr. Andrew Weil and Dr. Mark Hyman http://help.senate.gov/Hearings/2009_02_26/2009_02_26.html I encourage you to watch the entire video. It is a very thorough overview of what is wrong with our health care system and many simple steps that can be taken to change these issues.

The blessing is that the only way we are going to get out of this mess is to do some very simple and reasonable things for once, such as promoting personal awareness as a form of individual health care
